Garth Jones from Enhansoft wrote a great documentation script to help document your MOM Server configuration, saving you some time in your documentation efforts. Check it out at www.infrontconsulting.com/mvp/sydi-mom.txt. Rename to .vbs and run at the command prompt by typing cscript sydi-mom.vbs.

Clustering MP Issues after Installation

 

After installing the Cluster MP confirm that the Cluster Virtual

Servers computer group isn't bound to the State Monitoring and

Service Discovery on Windows 2000 and 2003 rule group.

 

If it is, remove the Cluster Virtual Servers computer group so

that only the Server Clusters computer group is bound and that

will prevent the following errors from occuring: (These errors are

from clustered Exchange servers)

Have you ever had difficulty monitoring large log files with MOM

2005? If you have, consider the size of your log file.

 

MOM 2005 appears to have an issue monitoring log files that contain lines

that have more than 4,096 characters but there is a hotfix now

available that addresses this issue. Check out KB 927796.
